My house is currently under renovation, so I thought it would be a good opportunity for me to take photographs of the construction/deconstruction around the house. It was interesting going around and getting different angle shots and close-up shots.
I also found an old digital camera that helped me took these photographs. Of course, I could have just used my mobile phone, but I wanted to see how this camera would turn out :)

For my original artworks, I wanted to just start painting and let my photographs guide me to start painting whatever and however I felt like during the moment - having my photographs next to me as I paint helps.

After painting it physically - I decided to take it into my ipad in procreate and edit and played around with it digitally, and these were two of the results

I’ve always had a strong feeling towards gender and clothing the boundaries and stereotypes surrounding it. It has always hit close to home. I have chosen this issue as I want to explore more the concept of these boundaries and limitations of men's and women's clothing.
For this prompt, I’ve only so far just brainstormed what comes to mind when I think about this issue.

In this process I have learnt a new technique of knotting. It was quite an enjoyable process, however it did take time since it is done by hand.
In addition, I’m still quite unsure what prompt this would fall in - ‘inspiring’ or ‘political’. However, I thought that it could possibly fall into both. So far it is falling into the ‘inspiring’ prompt. However, this could change as I continue further.
My next step is to check out ‘macramé knotting’.
MACRAMÉ TECHNIQUE

SKIRT PIECE MAKING
d e s c r i p t i o n .
In this process, I took the time to research and watch some basic macramé knots (eg. square knots).

I wanted to somehow incorporate this into a skirt piece using the net technique I did on the top piece along with some basic macramé knots. I'm only doing basic techniques as I'am limited with time and materials/equipment. I envision this skirt piece to be more of a tie around and or wrap around.
​
Along this process, I chose not to plan it and rather just do it as I go, which made things more interesting, fun, and unrestricted. Although, If i had enough materials and time I may have took the time to plan it out.
However, since this is also my first time learning these techniques - I think this was a great approach - given the time and situation.
